Software licenses

Someone asked this over e-mail

Hi, I’m checking the types of license and trying to find the perfect one for me, however, I have some questions.

My work involves three images with three projectors.

  1. Taking an example with the license One, each image I generate has to have a size (max) of 1280x720 or the total of my 3 images have to have the size of 1280x720?
  2. If the case is the second one, can I divide the image, or do I have to generate just one image on the output section of Lightact?.

Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

Yes, you are correct. Lightact’s licenses limit only the overall number of pixels you are outputting. So, for example, in Lightact One you can output to as many outputs as long as the overall pixel count doesn’t exceed 1 x 1280x720 px.

In Lightact Easy the overall pixel count can’t exceed 2 x 1920x1080 px and so on.

So, if you want to output to 3 projectors what will essentially determine which license you’d have to purchase, are their resolutions. For example, if the projectors are 1280 x 720 px you could do it with Lightact Easy, but if they are 1080p, then you’d have to buy Lightact Pro 1 x 4K

Please see the image below:

If your projectors are 720p, then you can actually output to 4 of them. Only the 5th gets the yellow Resolution exceeded warning dot.

p.s. I wasn’t 100% sure what you mean by “can I divide the image” though…

Best regards,
